Hi everyone! Since I leave for my amazing adventure in just one month, I felt it would be a good day to update everybody(: This weekend was very busy, but great: I was able to get some straight-forward answers from the brazilian embassy on applying for my VISA, send in some of the last documents AFS required, and meet some lovely people who work for AFS Comitê Santos, my local chapter in Brazil. I was also offered the opportunity to take surfing classes during my stay there, and of cooouurrseee i said yes! Recently, I have also been in contact with 5 other AFSers from across the country who will be traveling with me from Miami to Sao Paulo, and as far as we know, we are the only Americans. I'm no where neeearr finishing everything up though, with finals around the corner, the earliest I can drive down to the brazilian consulate in DC will be 2 weeks from now, which is cutting it close. VISA's are supposed to be granted after around a week of review though, so I hope that by February I will be good to go.
